Career

1990s

After Finishing school, Owens began his fashion career in Los Angeles as a pattern cutter, producing illicit copies of designer clothing, which provided him with hands-on experience in garment construction.^[1]

Rick Owens Launched his namesake fashion label in 1994.^[2] His first collections were sold exclusively at Charles Gallay, a Los Angeles boutique known for stocking avant.garde fashion labels.

2000s

In 2001, Owens sought international recognition and together with Eo Bocci Associati agreed to a distribution deal. Becuase of this deal, Owens had to relocate his production to Italy, where it remains to this day.^[1]
