    Glenn Martens (born 29 April 1983) is a Belgian fashion designer. He is known for his experimental and architectural approach to clothing. He is most known for his work at Y/Project as creative director from 2013 to 2024 and as creative director of Diesel since 2020. In January 2025, he was appointed as the creative director of Maison Margiela.

    Early life

    Glenn Martens was born on 29 December 1983 in Bruges, Belgium. He initially studied interior architecture before moving to the fashion course at the Royal Academy of Antwerp, where he graduated in 2008.[1]

    Career

    Early Work

    Martens began his career working as a junior designer at Jean Paul Gaultier (Brand) where he helped design for the women's pre-collection and the menswear label G2.[2]

    In 2012, he founded his eponymous label, which debuted at Paris Fashion Week. It ran for three seasons.[2]

    Y/Project (2013–2024)

    Martens had worked as first assistant at Y/Project since Yohan Serfaty launched it in 2010. He took over as creative director when Yohan Serfaty passed away in 2013. [2]

    Diesel (2020-present)

    Maison Margiela (2025-present)

    In January 2025, Martens was named creative director of Maison Margiela, Succeeding John Galliano.
